My name is Dominik Jakob Molitor, Development Lead at BEC Medical GmbH. I work in the intersection of regulated machinery, robotics and quality management.
I was born in Bitburg near the Luxembourgish-German border and went there to primary, middle and high School. After graduating in march of 2016, I moved to Tübingen, where I started to study theology for a year. Shortly after, I recognized that I was in the wrong field and started to pursue a scientific career. I began a biology bachelor degree in 2017 where I specialised in molecular biology.
My work history is marked by flexibility: At the beginning of my last B. Sc. semester in 2020, I was forced to change the topic of my thesis to something that can be researched from home. So through happenstance I was pushed into the field of sequence and structure analysis and therefore, into the field of bioinformatics. This lead to a growing interest in this field. Since 2020 I studied M. Sc. Bioinformatics in Tübingen, which I finished in summer 2023.
In between my third and forth M. Sc. semester I worked at Tesla Automation as a working student in the biotechnology department. This brought me into the field of automation technologies.
Since end of 2023 I am part of the BEC company group. First I joined the company as a developer in the early stages of certification of three products around the guidoo product. After succesfull CE marking, the decision was made to split off the Medical device manufacturing into the newly established BEC Medical GmbH in Magdeburg.
I held a leading role in this transformation. I established two development teams for the new projects, introduced the SCRUM methodologies to both new and old teams and took the internal role of the QMR in 2026, in which I had the task to create a new, modern and agile QMS.
